Global results of the Pan-African Congress in Lome
The congress will result in the “Declaration of the Pan-African Congress of Lome” which will include
- The question of the human, political, cultural, social, identity and societal future of the African in a world in deep mutation and of his status in relation to the other peoples of the world.
- The need to conceive in common for Africa, a vision, a doctrine and principles of action of a reinvented and revitalized Pan-Africanism to weigh in the reform of institutions by relying on our assets and our potentialities.
- A community of past, roots and destinies with Africans and their ancestors living outside the continent leading to the design of a vision and innovative means to make the diaspora and Afro-descendants the recognized strategic actors of Africa’s development.
Specific results of the Congress
- The concretization of the ambition for the renewal of Pan-Africanism is translated by the elaboration of a reference document (“white paper”) presenting the vision, the founding principles and some flagship projects.
- New strategies and strong recommendations have been formulated, notably on :
- Mobilizing innovative resources and partnerships for Africa
- Collective responses to the strong aspirations of the diaspora and Afro-descendants regarding their African origins, roots or identities.
- New approaches and a new pan-African paradigm to reinvent itself in order to better act in the service of the continent’s development and influence.
- A document of popularization on the contributions to the populations of the Pan-African Congress of Lome will be elaborated and disseminated everywhere in Africa and in the diaspora and in the Afrodescendant communities to confirm that it is indeed a Pan-African congress of peoples, these associated as well in the preparations as stakeholders as during the organization of the congress in Lome
