“Take the necessary steps and measures for the effective implementation and completion of this “Decade of African Roots and the African Diaspora” project and support the holding of all events, such as the organization of the African Descendants Forum in August 2021 or March 2022 in Equatorial Guinea, an annual African Diaspora Congress, and other initiatives involving members of the Diasporas and communities of African descent wherever they are in the world;

collaborate with all AU Member States and other stakeholders (regional economic communities, international institutions such as the UN system, the IMF, the World Bank and other international partners, organizations of communities of African descent, development NGOs and the African Diaspora, etc.) in order to achieve the expected results of the “2021-2031 Decade of African Roots and the African Diaspora.
Results proposed in the concept note of the decade

An “Agenda 2021-2031 of African roots and diasporas” with flagship events and operations is initiated;

An international showcase is offered to the projects carried by the different countries;

Achievements of members of the African diaspora and communities of African descent are highlighted and promoted;

Initiatives to combat discrimination and abuse of people of African descent and diaspora are promoted and their interests defended;
-
Mechanisms and channels of exchange likely to facilitate the return of brothers of African descent from the Caribbean and America are put in place;
-
The mobility of people and co-development strategies for the integration of populations of African descent and for the accession of our continent to the emergence are coordinated;

A real diaspora policy and a solid action plan to concretize the return and increased involvement of the diaspora in the development process of the continent is ensured with strong initiatives such as the Economic Forum of African Diasporas, the Directory of African Skills;

The links between Afro-descendants, communities of African roots, diasporas and the African continent are strengthened;
-
The role and contributions of people of African descent and diasporas to the economic development of the African continent are enhanced;
-
Members of the diaspora and national, regional and global decision-makers for Africa’s development are federated;
-
Productive investment and entrepreneurship initiatives of the African Diaspora to improve and increase the impact of their actions on Africa’s economic development by 2063 are supported.
